CAT will prepare the following things:

  • The coaxial cable to the MDF of the building (downstairs)
  • The HDSL Interface BNC equipment or RJ45 (Customer is responsible for it.)
  • Internal electric wire (copper wire) from MDF to the hosting
  • AC220V electricity circuit
  • Card E1 or signal channel for linking the coaxial cable to the PBX box

What kind of service is the CAT one-connect?

It is the domestic and international direct line connected directly to the CAT exchange or network without any connection through other operators’ exchange or network.

For whom is the CAT one-connect appropriate?

It is appropriate for the company or the person who uses a great deal of both domestic and international telephone calls. The calls will be made directly through the CAT coaxial cable.  The users will not only use the perfectly clear signal, but they will also be able to save their expenses since CAT will provide some reduction to the user according to the total charge.

SmartLog Group – for Security Business Service

Do the customers who used the SmartLog Service need to use the CAT Internet Service?

Since the SmartLog Service is an equipment installed at the customer’s office, the customer can accordingly use the internet service form any ISP.  However, using the CAT Internet Service is more preferable in terms of the coordination and the after-sales service.

Q2: 

If there are more than 100 computer sets, but not over 50 of them are used simultaneously, which package is the most preferable?

A2: 

You should choose the 50-set package, because it must relate to the operating size of not over 50 sets simultaneously.

Q3: 

What is the outstanding point of the SmartLog Service?

The SmartLog Service is the equipment with the software the operating efficiency of which has been tested with high stability.  It is the service without any annual license fee.  However, the customer can choose to buy the additional after-sales service or MA.

Q4: 

In case a customer has bought the SmartLog for 1 year round, what will happen if the he does not buy the maintenance service in the coming year?

The SmartLog Service has no software license fee.  So, the SmartLog still can store Log Files as usual, but the customer will not get only the additional after-sales service.

What are the functions of the SmartLog Service?

How can a customer know from which equipment he will store the log files?

According to the provision of the Computer Crimes Act B.E. 2550, the files will be stored from the network, the server, and the security equipment, such as Firewall, IPS/IDS, etc.  Before using this service, an officer will provide advice the customer.

Q2: 

With the Secure Log Management, how long the log files are stored?

A2: 

In storing the log files, according to the provision of the Computer Crimes Act B.E. 2550, they will last for at least 90 days.  However, it is possible to store them for 180 days or 1 year, up to the customer.

How is the Secure Log Management useful for customers?

Training the personnel in order that they will be able to understand how to use the close circuit TV camera for further using it in the real situation and being able to solve any possible problems immediately.

The followings are the differences between the Analog Camera and the IP Camera:

  • For the Analog Camera, the interphase head is BNC linked to the coaxial cable.  For the IP Camera, the interphase head is RJ45 linked to the LAN (cat5e) signal line.
  • The standard of picture and the adjustment of the IP Camera is more preferable.
  • The IP Camera is more preferable in terms of its management of different values in the camera.  Moreover, it is easier than the Analog Camera in adding more cameras in the future.

In installing a CCTV camera, what kind of camera should we use?

A5: 

The location should be taken into consideration.  The survey should be done at the installation spot first so that the officers can design and choose a proper camera to suit the objectives and the environment of the area.  In case a camera is installed for watching over some precious areas, such as an ATM, a gate, etc., the proper camera should be the one with a high quality lens.  In case the camera is installed in the obscure area with not much light, the infrared camera should be more preferable.  If the camera is installed inside a building, the indoors camera should be selected.  And, if the camera is installed outside a building, the outdoors camera should be the best choice, because it must be more durable among the outdoors environment.

In case a customer’s original camera is an analog one, is it possible to add a new IP camera in the same system?

Yes, an IP camera can be added to the system.  However, a converter should be added too for converting the picture signal.

In the process of checking the sending out of email by the Email Security Service, should the picture screening be checked by the file pattern or the file size?

In the process of checking the sending out of picture, both the content and the size will be checked.  The size must not be bigger than what previously agreed upon.

Q3: 

Is it necessary to use only the CAT Internet Service in using the Email Security Service?

A3: 

No, it isn’t.  The customer using the internet from any ISP can use the Email Security Service.

Q4: 

In case a customer wants to use the Email Security Service, but he does not have the organization email, can he still use the service?

A4: 

He can still use it by using the Secure Mail Hosting Service along with the Email Security Service.

Q5: 

In case the mail system which the customer uses happens to drop down and can not receive any mails during that time, can the Email Security Service store such mails for the customer or not?

The Email Security Service can store them for 30 days from the day it receives the mails; and it will resend them every 5 minutes until the sending is completed.

In case a customer has his own DNS, can he use the Email Security Service?

Yes, he can.  He must only change the MX Record in sending mail to pass through the Email Security Service first.  Then, he can use the service.

For using the Email Security Service, is it necessary for the customer to temporarily put the Domain in the CAT DNS?

No, it isn’t.  Wherever the customer temporarily puts the Domain, he can use the service.

Method of calculating service charge for the CAT 001 service

Minimum time: 1 minute. The next minute will be calculated as unit. One unit is 6 seconds.  The remnants of a unit are regarded as 1 unit.  It is divided into 3 durations:

Normal Rate:   During 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. (On Sunday the economical rate is   used.)

Normal Rate:   During 9.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. and during 5.00 a.m. – 7.00 a.m.

Reduced Rate: During 12.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.

How many ways can we pay for the service charge of CAT 001 service?

The minimum time is 1 minute. The next minute will be calculated as unit.  One unit is 6 seconds.  The remnants of a unit are regarded as 1 unit.  The calculation depends on the destination telephone, a basic telephone or a mobile telephone.

The service charge of the CAT audio conference

It is 6 baht/minute/dial for the system use.  If the conference attendant dials in to the system, the expense will relate to the service charge rate of that attendant’s country.  If the operator is asked to dial out to the conference attendant, CAT 001 rate will be used in case the destination is outside Thailand; and the local rate will be used in case the destination is inside Thailand.

In case the CAT thaicard is used to contact a foreign country, how is it charged?

It is charged according to the CAT 001 service charge.

In case the CAT thaicard is used from a hotel in a foreign country, do we have to do any payment to the hotel too?

A2: 

You must check for the information at the hotel first.   It is possible that you will have to do some payment fixed by each hotel.

Q3: 

In case of going abroad and opening the International Roaming service through the mobile telephone company, and we also use the CAT thaicard, how do we pay?

A3: 

You must pay for the International Roaming and the Local Call to the mobile telephone company.  For the expenses on the calls made from abroad back to Thailand, they will be deducted from the CAT thaicard.
